Lots o’ smiles
AVJ is quite the smiler now. We are loving it.

AVJ’s third snow
We’re big fans of the Talking Heads’ “Stay up late”
And [she] looks so cute
In [her] little red suit

That was Amelia’s first Instant Message. I was IM’ing Mike with AVJ in my lap and she was fascinated by the keyboard. I’m a pretty loud typer, so it was a lot of CLACKCLACKCLACK.
She reached for the keyboard, so I pulled it towards her and she typed, “bbkighbhh x “. All by herself. Well, I hit [Enter] for her.
Mike’s response?: Egg-sellent!
Me: ^ That was AVJ
Mike: Figured/hoped
UPDATE: Amelia’s first Word doc: “Vvvvb .vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvnnnnn nf56yg,”

Okay, it’s actually identified. It’s AVJ’s Execersaucer (from Elizabeth Zapanta!), and she’s gotten big enough to use it. She can stand up and is learning to play with the toys on it.

Someone discovered her voice
Remember how Amelia discovered she had a tongue last month? Well this weekend she discovered her voice. It was a great weekend… she gurgled and burbled and gooed her way through the weekend. Making sounds just to make sounds, not because she was hungry or tired.
Comments are off for this postAnd a few more pics
AVJ has been busy since Christmas. Growing and “talking” a lot!
She can face-forward in the baby bjorn now:

And she and her daddy have been bonding after he gets home from work and picks her up from the babysitter. Sometimes they get in smiling contests. Amelia always wins.

Check out the kung-fu battle grip on her playmat squid.

The hair is coming. And the eyes are still blue.

Belated Chritsmas Pics
We’re pretty behind on pics, including pictures of AVJ’s first Christmas. So, in no particular order:
Great Grandma Laura and Amelia’s Uncle Michael visited Christmas Eve Eve:

Amelia had her first Johnson family Christmas on the 25th. Here’s Amelia with her Grandaunt Cheri. Poor Cheri… Amelia was fussy almost every time we put them together. Bad coincidence, I’m sure.

And here are her GGF and GGM:

And our friends Shea & Tom visted from Hoston just before New Years:

And another Texas friend, Julie from JMU, visited, too:
