Spring has sprung
Amelia played in her saucer while I cleaned up the veggie patch in the back yard.

It’s still calm here…vaccine hangover should begin in about 45 minutes.

She tried avocado and peas (thanks Laura!).
You’ll get a lot of pictures of Amelia with food on her face. Apparently it is really cute to me. I can’t stop taking pictures of bright green food smeared all over her face.

Green veggies aren’t as good as fruits and squash. We’ll work on that, if her mommy has anything to say about it.

Amelia had her 6 month checkup this morning. Based on our outing yesterday, we thought she’d be about 400 feet tall, compared to the Washington Monument which is 555 feet 5 1/2 inches tall.

Well, she wasn’t 400 feet tall. Here’s reality:
Weight: 16 lbs, 11 ounces, 75th percentile
Height: 26 1/2 inches, 75th percentile
Head: 43 1/2 cm, 75th percentile
She cried a little bit for her shots, but it was much better this time. And she’s having a very nice nap right now.
The BIG NEWS is that she was smiling at me when the doctor was checking her out and I noticed her bottom teeth are coming in! What a nice surprise!
No commentsThe Cherry Blossoms
Amelia got to go downtown today to see the beautiful cherry trees. She got many smiles, and her first lick of ice cream. Lucky girl!

Monkey
We take a monkey pic every month to see how much she grows. Here is what a difference 5 months makes…

She’s One-Half!
Happy One-Half Birthday Amelia! We are all excited to have made it this far, and we can hardly remember “when she was little”…one of my favorite things that Laura says. (News alert: weight check at 6 mo. doctor appointment on Saturday. Of course we’ll post it. Take bets or something, make it fun!)

Here she is with her one-half birthday present. We sang “Happy One-Half Birthday To You”. : )

Amelia got her first pair of sunglasses today as a party favor for a party she couldn’t go to (don’t want to spread tummy troubles to the other kids so just mom went).

This weekend she graduated from double-lip raspberries to saliva-spraying-tongue-sticking-out raspberries! (…another good reason to not go to the party.) When she hasn’t been asleep- which has been most of the weekend- her tongue has been buzzing away. To the delight of her mother who can’t stop laughing.

Ethan is a big distraction to Amelia, mostly when she is eating. She will stop mid-swallow and stare and stare at him, until breaking a beautiful smile.

Here they are having some fun this morning.
No commentsWhere’s Amelia?
Asleep! We can’t believe she slept through a wicked storm tonight. Sleet (as you can see), thunder that shook the windows, lightening, and lots and lots of rain.

She got her first stomach bug & fever and slept most of the day. Hopefully she’ll feel better tomorrow.
