News Flash!!!
Amelia’s BMI is a healthy 19.
Hilarious!!
She’s saying “Ah ha” after she heard Ethan say it.
And “Duh-buh-duh-buh-duh-buh” on and on.
: )
A nice picture.
Amelia did these things this week:
1) She figured out stacking cups
2) She enjoyed playing with the faucet and watching the drain
3) She took two steps without holding on tonight
4) On Monday, she removed my hand from her push cart (we were on the sidewalk and it goes too fast for her)
5) On Wednesday, she moved my hand to the light switch to help her turn the light on and off
6) She reached the doorknob- yikes, we didn’t know she was that tall!
7) She lifts up our shirts to look for our belly buttons, since we got her The Belly Button Book (she needs help to see hers because it’s hidden from her eyes by her tummy)
Peek-a-boo
Rose taught Amelia play like this.
1 year check-up
24 pounds, 4 ounces - 90th percentile
30 1/2 inches tall - 75th percentile
47 cm head circumference- 90th percentile
100% beautiful!!
She got 4 shots which were quite traumatic. But she is doing great.

Gotta keep warm in the jogging stroller…

Birthday Party! (#3)
Amelia’s birthday party was Saturday. From wisest to prettiest (better than oldest to youngest!), party revelers were: Giffer & GeeGee, Grandpa & Bebe, Grand Aunt Cheri, and cousins Kurt & Preston. Thanks everyone for joining the party. It poured rain but we smoked ribs & chicken anyway. Blowing up balloons and letting them go was fun.
Amelia needed help opening her presents. She will learn to do that herself soon enough…

After a nap, we had cake. She was sooooooo happy after her nap. Her cake included strawberry mousse and lots of food coloring.

All cleaned up:

Tomorrow’s her one year check up with the pediatrician. We are hoping for the A-OK to use our new bike trailer!

I ran a race yesterday with Ethan & Amelia cheering. Amelia enjoyed the post-race water. The race made her so tired that she took a 2.5 hour nap.

She actually CLIMBED up to the bay window using her Adirondack chair.

This one is described in the post below but a picture is worth 1000 words! The one on the left was a whole $5, the one on the right was $1.05.

Some Pics & News
Four days and counting…
1. Amelia walks back and forth with her cart, a new $5 purchase from a used baby stuff sale. Yesterday she was very frustrated trying to push the cart with one hand and the car with the other hand.
2. She is in fact getting a molar on each side. Yes, pleasant. Actually, mostly.
3. I matter-of-fact narrated “I’m putting your shoes on now” and I am sure she said the word “shoes” back to me a few seconds later while she watched. WOW! Rose taught her that one. I didn’t stress any particular word, she just picked out the right one.
4. I was trying to teach her “Rose, Rose, ruh, ruh, ruh, Rose” the other morning and she touched her Nose. Close.
Here is her winter coat. No she is not a conehead. But she’s cute!

She found a recycled wrapper from the chocolate company where her Aunt Melissa works.

Ethan likes to say he is putting on her “backwards cape” when he gets a bib for a meal. This afternoon she played in her cape for a while.

Touchdown! Maybe her super baby powers helped the Redskins win.
