While we’re eating lunch at 12:16.

Allison: I gave Amelia a couple M&M’s.
Ethan: She saw them when I picked them up at the store and said “What’s that !Daddy?” I said “It’s an ingredient.” She said “I want some ingredient!”
(Amelia thought about the conversation for a couple seconds)
Amelia: I want some M&Ms.
Allison: You can have a couple after dinner. You already had your lunch M&Ms.
Amelia: Is it dinnertime?
Allison: Nope, it’s lunchtime. It’s 12:16, Amelia. You eat lunch, then you can play, then you nap, then you play again, and then it’s dinnertime and you can have a couple M&Ms.
Amelia: It’s time to play?
As in we play before dinner, and then she can have M&Ms!

Daph has figured out how to make sounds without crying. Hooray!

Amelia baked cookies while she wore my shoes this morning.

Here is Daphne eating a cookie that Amelia made for her.

Daphne’s socks are soooo cute- fake Mary Jane’s. She got them in various colors from GiGi and Giffer for Christmas.

Daphne’s reaching for toys now. She sat up on my lap this morning by leaning on me with just one elbow. She’s not even close to sitting up, but she was able to stay balanced vertically for a few seconds without tilting over. A few times this week we heard Amelia exclaim “She’s smiling at me!”.

Amelia’s thing this week is “I don’t want to” when it’s time for a bath. Then after we coerce her into the tub, we can’t get her out for a looooooong time. She’s always loved her baths but I’m guessing she’s seeing what she can get away with now- not taking one, and staying in.
And for various tasks she says “I can’t do it”, one second before- oops- she did it. And immediately follows with “I did it all by myself!”.
