Funny thing Amelia said

We were on our way home last night from pizza with the Flynns. I was singing a song, belting it out, and when I stop mid line, Amelia usually finishes it for me. Last night she wouldn’t! I said “What’s wrong, Amelia, you don’t want to sing with me?”
She said “I’m just stopping my mouth because I’m tired!”

Nap party & doggie love

Last week I left Daphne on her bedroom floor while I went to fill the bathtub. Amelia came in, got all of that stuff, and tucked the two of them in for a nap.

Here is Daphne getting some doggie love. She laughs and laughs when they come over to say hi and (usually) kiss her.

Daphne is sitting up like a champ now.  She only needs a pillow behind her for when she rolls backwards after maybe 30 or 40 minutes of sitting!  She doesn’t know another way to get out of her sit yet.

She is having “dadadada” and “lalalala” conversations with us now, especially with Amelia.  She knows it pleases her Daddy when she says “dadada”.

She found a long hair on the floor and then a long string on Amelia’s nightgown and really enjoyed playing with both- even though it looked like she wasn’t playing with anything!

She’s working on teeth 3 (just through) and 4 (coming) and has been chewing on a comb for maybe 15 minutes now.  She’s getting some good sharp teeth scratches on her silver rattle, just like her big sister did with her own.

She loves chocolate ice cream.  I gave in tonight, and she insisted on as much as I would give her.  And she loves bacon and pancakes and smoked whitefish and anything you put in front of her.

How far she’s come from her little 5 pounds, 7 weeks early body.  I can’t believe it’s almost her first birthday.

Daphne’s new game

“Can I have that please?”

She will hand us her toy when we ask, arm straight out. It’s cute and the first interaction we’ve had like that.

Don’t you LOVE those eyelashes?

Fireworks and Boat Rides

We were worried that Amelia might not care for the fireworks. We needn’t have worried. She loved them. Laughed squealed and pointed. We enjoyed her enjoying them, and after a while, she was really hamming it up.

The weather was lovely, and the fireworks were accented by a beautiful moonrise over the water.

The next day, we took a ride in Grandpa’s boat. Daphne enjoyed the feel of the wind on her face (and Bebe’s company).

Amelia had a blast, too. She loved pointing out all the jet skis and waving to every boat we passed.

BONUS. This last one will get me in trouble with Allison for posting. She wants you all to know that she did not take this picture. Nor is she posting it. ;-)

Amelia Bedelia

Ethan said goodbye and told us he was going to run an errand to the grocery store. A few minutes later, Amelia went over to the window to wave goodbye and watch him go. He was already gone, and I said, he is already driving up the street. She said “Why is he driving an errand and not running an errand?” I said “That is a good question. Lets call him and find out, Amelia Bedelia!”.
