The Amelia and Daphne Blog

Funny and mysterious girls

Hooray for Daphne and Amelia in the bike trailer. We took a spin around the neighborhood last weekend.  Amelia was such a nice big sister and kept her arm around Daphne the whole time “to keep her safe”. For a while the two of them were just laughing and laughing together.  Daphne waved her pot in the air most of the ride.

This is an image that has been in my head and my heart since before I was even pregnant with our second child. Amelia and a sibling riding around in that thing. Amelia cried the first few times we tried to get her in the trailer, and Daphne just loved it from the beginning. Maybe having her big sister there made it all o.k.?

We got a new toy for Daphne last weekend- her very own pair of glasses.  (The only pic we took of Daphne in the glasses is blurry.)  But Amelia was playing with them tonight and hamming it up.

We were actually getting good exercise from laughing hysterically about the scenerio of me taking Daphne to her next eyedoctor’s appointment (Nov), and sticking the (fake) glasses on her face just before the doctor walks into the room, and how confused he would be.  “Wait, I didn’t prescribe her any glasses yet…”, fumbling to check the chart, heehee wouldn’t that be fun! Here is Amelia enjoying all the laughing.

I left Daphne laying in one of the concave sections of the green piece, I even believe her head might have been in the other direction.  We have no idea how she got where she is, in maybe a minute.  She’s never moved that far before unless she was rolling (sideways movement), which doesn’t seem likely in this case.

She waaaaaaaants to crawl, she just can’t do it quite yet.  Who knows, maybe she did, or maybe she pushed herself on her back?  Her teacher told Ethan today that they think she can scoot on her bottom because sometimes she isn’t where they put her down when they go back.   Apparently the clever girl only moves when no one is watching!
